Vivo launched the T4 Ultra in India earlier today with some significant improvements over its predecessor, the T3 Ultra. While the on-paper specs and features of the Vivo T4 Ultra look promising, its performance in our testing remains to be seen. On the other hand, the Vivo T3 Ultra, introduced in India last year at a starting price of Rs 31,999, offers an excellent price-to-performance ratio. While you can still buy the Vivo T3 Ultra at a lower price than the new T4 Ultra, should you opt for the more affordable option, or is the newly launched smartphone worth the investment? Here, we have compared the price, camera, performance, display, and other key aspects of the Vivo T4 Ultra and the T3 Ultra to help you make an informed choice about what’s new. 

Vivo T4 Ultra vs T3 Ultra: Display

Starting with the display, the Vivo T4 Ultra features a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 5,000 nits of peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM dimming, HDR10+ support, and Eye Care certification. On the other hand, the Vivo T3 Ultra features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4500 nits.

Vivo T4 Ultra vs T3 Ultra: Processor and storage

In terms of processor, the Vivo T4 Ultra features an upgraded 4 nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ SoC with an Immortalis-G720 GPU. However, Vivo T3 Ultra comes equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. Additionally, the T4 Ultra packs up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage, while the latter packs up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Vivo T4 Ultra vs T3 Ultra: Camera

The camera is another aspect where the Vivo T4 Ultra outshines the T3 Ultra with an additional periscope lens. The former features a triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP Sony IMX921 OIS primary camera, a 50MP Sony IMX882 periscope lens, and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. However, the latter only has a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony IMX921 main camera with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens.

For selfies and video calls, the Vivo T3 Ultra features a 50MP front camera; however, the Vivo T4 Ultra has a 32MP front camera with 4K resolution and Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS), giving the former an edge. We will be testing the camera in-depth for our full review, which will be dropped soon.

Vivo T4 Ultra vs T3 Ultra: Battery 

The battery capacity of both handsets is the same – a 5,500mAh battery; however, the T4 Ultra supports faster 90W charging compared to the T3 Ultra’s 80W charging. 

Vivo T4 Ultra vs T3 Ultra: Price 

The Vivo T4 Ultra has been launched at a slightly higher price of Rs 37,999, compared to the T3 Ultra’s Rs 27,999. However, the base variant of the T4 Ultra comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the T3 Ultra’s base variant features an 8GB + 128GB configuration. The 8GB + 256GB variant of the T3 Ultra is currently priced at Rs 29,999.
