Rockstar Games took fans by surprise in May when it unexpectedly released the second trailer of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) on YouTube. The internet exploded with excitement as the trailer quickly went viral, especially on social media platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). With eye-catching visuals, thrilling car chases and intriguing new characters, the trailer gave fans a glimpse of what’s to come.
The buzz around the game has only grown since then, with players eagerly looking forward to the next chapter in the iconic GTA series. From the release date and gameplay to map and characters, here’s a breakdown of everything we know so far about GTA 6.
The storyline of GTA 6 will centre around two main characters, Jason and Lucia. According to the second trailer’s description, “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
Besides Jason and Lucia, players will also see several new characters, including Boobie Ike, Brian Heder, Cal Hampton, Dre’Quan Priest, Raul Bautista and Real Dimez.

GTA 6 will take players to Leonida. According to Rockstar, GTA 6 “heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.”
GTA 6 is officially scheduled to release on May 26, 2026. In India, the standard edition of the game is expected to cost around Rs 5,999 and special editions could go up to Rs 7,299 or more.

Rockstar hasn’t revealed the official system requirements yet, but leaks hint that players might need at least an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor, paired with an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card. You’ll also likely need at least 8GB of RAM and 150GB of free storage space.
